About Me

Hello!! Welcome to my personal online platform and I am happy to see that you are interested in my journey.

In short, I am a twenty year old student at the University of Applied Sciences who is eager to get started in the international business world.

I was born in a small city along the Dutch shoreline near The Hague. This is also the place where I grew up playing several team sports such as Football and where I completed my primary and high school.

Living near the shoreline of the Netherlands always have been a great pleasure but I came upon the will to discover and travel to other places in the world when I started doing the internationally focused studies in Rotterdam. This enabled me to do an internship abroad and travel for projects to universities in other countries!

My Journey

Digital Marketing Minor

Since September 2020

Rotterdam

Living in the digital age, we are confronted every day with how to use the enormous variety of online tools to improve our digital strategies and reach successful results.

That is why since the summer of 2020 I have been studying the minor ‘Digital Marketing’ at the Rotterdam Business School. This minor is the only complete digital marketing course taught in English. During the six months of the minor I will be working on certain topics that will help me understand how to apply the digital technologies and media in order to reach our marketing objectives.
Some of the topics discussed and that I will control by the end of the minor are: digital marketing metrics, digital marketing planning, online customer experience, personal branding and digital story telling.
The assignment aligned with these topics is to write a digital marketing plan for a company that needs help regarding this digital marketing plan.
The company I have chosen is JC Consulting which is a consultant who helps students and young professionals on a personal and professional level.

International Business

Since September 2017

Rotterdam

Since the summer of 2017 I have been studying at the University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam. At this university I am aiming to fulfill my International Business (IB) degree. This fulltime bachelor degree teaches me how to be a intercultural business communicator and a value-oriented leader. Right now I am in year 4 (last year) and in the previous 3 years I have fulfilled all 180 ECTS and developed an international skillset.

This includes fluent English in speaking and writing, German on a B1 level, hard & soft skills such as critical thinking, communication, innovation and collaboration, to name a few. I worked on marketing plans, sales techniques, organizational strategies, accounting financial performances of companies and created supply chain networks using the latest digital tools.
This study also allowed me to see more of the world because during the first three years I have travelled to Shanghai, China to do a school project and I have travelled to Almería, Spain for an internship for 6 months.

HAVO, ISW Gasthuislaan

September 2012 - June 2017

During the 5 years I was at ISW Gasthuislaan I went from someone with no idea what was going on to a guy who was ready for the next step in his (still so short) life. At ISW Gasthuislaan I followed an economic and social studies where I learned the basic economic, social and communication skills.
When I got my HAVO degree I left the school with the basic skills necessary for International Business (IB) and a lot of friends who I am still in contact with today and that is something I am thankful for.

Beachclub Breez

Bartender/Waiter, Since 2016

Since 2016 I have been working at a beach-club close to where I live. I started working here as a dishwasher when I was fifteen years old. After that I started doing other jobs within the restaurant such as assistant chef and right now I am working as Bartender/Waiter. Working as a bartender is something I enjoy the most and this is what I have been doing for the last 1,5 years. During my time at this beach club I developed a lot of social skills that help me communicating with guests and colleagues.

Valstar Spain

Salads Direct/Customer Care, September 2019 - January 2020

Almería, Spain

From September 2019 till January 2020 I did an internship at Valstar in Almería, Spain. Valstar is a trustworthy supplier in the fruit and vegetable sector. During my time at Valstar I was working in the Salads Direct department. This department is taking care of customers, for now only in the United Kingdom, which have a contract based relationship with Valstar. My main task was to fill in orders and let customers know when something was not available or when something was wrong with the products. When that happened I needed to be flexible and, together with the customer, come up with a good alternative.

My Skills

During ‘my journey’ I have not only learned things and made memories, I also developed skills. Well-developed skills can help you stand out in situations when you need to show what you can do. During my time at the University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam I have refined my skills so that they are an advantage to me in the near future.
Some examples of my well-developed skills are:
